The Reserve Officers are citizen volunteers who are dedicated to providing police services to the citizens of Sunland Park. Our Reserve Officers are uniformed and equipped identically to our department's full time officers.  Our Reserve Officers mainly ride with full-time officers, but those reserve officers who are qualified can patrol solo.

 

Reserve officers supplement existing services so that the police department can continue to offer a wide range of services such as:

• Providing security for public and school events
• Assisting with criminal investigations
• Prisoner Transports
• Assisting with major disasters
• Conducting stakeouts and surveillance

Police department reserve officers make a very important contribution to the department. Through this unit the department saves thousands of dollars each year through the services that our reserve officers provide to the community.
