Operations Division The Sunland Park Police Department Operations Division is the largest of the three divisions that make up the Sunland Park Police Department. The Operations Division is responsible for the delivery of police services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Operations Division is staffed by approximately 20 sworn employees consisting of police officers, sergeants and lieutenants. Support staff is also vital to the Operations Division and includes approximately 2 non-sworn employees comprised of Domestic Advocate services and 15 Police Reserve Officers. | |
The Operations Division is represented by the dedicated men and women in uniform. They are seen operating patrol cars and police trucks. When a community member dials 911 seeking help, the members of the Operations Division are the first to respond. The Operations Division responded to over 14,000 calls for service during 2008. |
In these challenging economic times, with diminished resources, the Operations Division strives to provide the best service possible. We have been able to keep our in-progress priority call response time under the bench mark of three (3) minutes.
The Operations Division is the home of many full time and specialized units and programs, including: Patrol, Traffic, Canine (K9) Unit, Gang Unit, Reserve Program, Domestic Advocate Program and soon to be implemented Bike Patrol Unit.
The Operations Division pledges to continue serving the community with professionalism and excellence in 2009 and beyond.
